About Us

We hated seeing time and money go to waste.

We saw businesses getting boxed into one-size-fits-all waste solutions that never fit their operations. Too many providers were hammers, so everything looked like a nail. That short-sightedness cost time, money, and sanity.

So we built Mashed differently.

We work as your partner, not just another vendor. That means digging into how our customers operate, providing tangible savings, and building systems that scale. Our services cater to how your operation actually runs: dependable roll-off rentals, mobile and industrial compaction that meaningfully cuts hauls, and commercial recycling programs that divert material from landfills and move the needle on cost and sustainability.

Across multiple states, our straight-talking southern roots stick with us everywhere. We measure success in hauls avoided, budgets made predictable, and partnerships that actually improve day-to-day operations.

Simple as that.

Team

Jacob Jones
Founder & CEO
Bio

Jacob grew up in small-town Alabama and went to high school with Cody before heading to Macalester College, where he studied Psychology and Business and captained the football team. He spent years in enterprise sales at KEYENCE and Aptean before founding Mashed. The company exists because Jacob got tired of watching businesses overpay for waste services from providers that were slow to respond and impossible to reach. He runs the business from Nashville and oversees operations across Tennessee, Alabama, Wisconsin, and new markets.

Cody Jones
Co-Founder & COO
Bio

Cody and Jacob go back to high school in Alabama. He went to Lee University, captained the basketball team, and worked in sales before the two of them started Mashed. Cody runs day-to-day operations across every market — trucks, drivers, schedules, service issues. If something breaks down or a customer has a problem, it goes through him.

Sam Cargo
Territory Sales Manager
Birmingham and Tuscaloosa
Bio

Sam runs the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa markets. He handles sales, manages accounts, and stays on top of operations in the field. He studied Communication at Auburn and came from a sales background before joining Mashed. He's on job sites and in front of customers more than he's at a desk.

Hunter Mckelvy
Territory Sales Manager Huntsville and North Alabama
Bio

Hunter covers Huntsville and North Alabama — same role as Sam, different territory. He got his BBA in Business Management and Logistics from Athens State, played college golf, and ran business operations at Performance Refrigeration before coming to Mashed. He handles sales, account management, and day-to-day service in the northern part of the state.

Danny Bauman
Managing Partner
Milwaukee, WI

Danny runs Mashed's mobile dumpster compaction operations in Wisconsin. He played college soccer and has been with the company for a while now. He built the Wisconsin market and handles sales, customer relationships, and field operations across the state.

Questions

How do you handle different waste streams?

We've learned that one approach doesn't fit all situations. Our team assesses each client's specific waste, from construction debris to commercial materials, and creates a plan that works. We separate, compact, and route everything to the right place.

What makes your compaction equipment different?

Our equipment is built for the real world—heavy use, tight schedules, and tough conditions. We maintain everything to the highest standard and replace units that don't perform. That reliability matters when your business depends on consistent waste management.

Do you work with small businesses?

Yes. We serve operations of all sizes across Tennessee. Whether you're a single location or managing multiple sites, we scale our services to match your needs and budget without compromising on quality.

Can you help reduce our waste costs?

That's often what happens. Through our waste stream audits and optimization consulting, we identify inefficiencies and unnecessary expenses. Many clients see meaningful savings within the first few months of working with us.

What's your approach to sustainability?

We treat it as a responsibility, not a marketing angle. We maximize diversion from landfills, provide detailed sustainability reporting, and help businesses understand their environmental impact. It's built into how we operate.
