Mobile Waste Compaction

Save thousands on hauls.

Reduce waste volume by up to 75% and haul half as often.

How It Works

Crush the contents of your dumpster and haul half as often.

When most sites call for a haul, their dumpsters only look full. Between all the awkwardly dumped items is space that can still be used. Mashed has a truck that does just that. Our 6,000 lb drum is specifically designed to flatten trash in open tops without harming them. Most customers reclaim 50% of their dumpster's capacity. 75% if their waste stream is lighter materials like cardboard and general office trash. With more space available in your roll-offs, you don't need to schedule hauls as often. Typically, our customers haul 50% less often. Which means they save 50% on their hauling expenses.

For example, if they hauled twice a month before mashing their trash, they now haul only once. Even with the mashing fee, the savings are staggering, especially on sites with several roll-offs. Usually, the cost of a mash is about one fifth the cost of a haul. When factored in, our customers see their overall waste costs decrease by 20-40%.

Not to mention, mashing boosts sustainability metrics, since it limits trips to landfills. On top of that, it only takes our truck about five minutes to mash a dumpster. And it's cool to watch.

Our custom-built truck is what makes mashing possible. This truck is equipped with a toothed three-ton drum designed specifically to fit into and crush the contents of any dumpster. The sides of the drum are longer than the teeth, so the dumpsters we mash never get damaged. All mashing jobs are controlled directly by the driver in the truck cab.

Mobile Waste Compaction

What is the benefit of mashing/using a mobile compaction service?

Mashing reduces the amount of hauls you need, which in turn drastically decreases your waste costs. Our customers who mash on a regular basis haul 50% less often. The less you haul, the more you save.

In addition to reduced costs, mashing gets you more use out of your dumpsters. Rather than hauling a dumpster that's half-filled with air, mashing helps you reclaim up to 70% of your dumpster's space, allowing you room for more trash that otherwise wouldn't fit. (This also helps a ton if your hauler is behind schedule!)

Finally, mashing reduces trips to landfills, and helps your business run more sustainably.

Does mashing damage my dumpster?

Mashing is perfectly safe for open-top dumpsters. Our three-ton drum is specifically designed to be used on them. The crushing power comes from the weight of the drum, rather than hydraulic pressure.

If I pay for an additional waste service, won't that increase my waste expenses?

Nope! The cost of a mash is about one-fifth the cost of a swap. So if you pay for a mash and a haul instead of two hauls, you'll cut your total hauling bill by about 50%. We'll often mash two or three times before a customer does a single haul. To put that in perspective, that's the equivalent of paying for about one and a half hauls, rather than paying for three hauls, all while hauling the same amount of trash.

What kind of trash do you compact?

Our 6,000lb drum can mash pretty much anything, except for thicker metals, dirt, and concrete. Got a question about the stuff in your dumpster? Call us!

Won't my dumpster be overweight?

For a vast majority of the time, mashing will NOT put your dumpster overweight or incur overage fees. In the rare case that it does, any additional fee will still be less expensive than the cost of multiple hauls. You're still hauling the same amount of trash, just in fewer trips. The big haulers make more money the more they haul. So they have a pricing incentive in place that encourages you to haul more often. That incentive is the "overage" fee. We've all been trained to assume that an overage fee is bad. Not true. Paying for more hauls when you can pay for fewer is much more costly. (And therefore worse, in our opinion).

How does pricing work?

We offer a flat rate per compaction that works out to about one fifth the cost of a haul. Call us to get a free quote.

How many times can I have my roll-off compacted before it needs to be hauled?

It depends on the contents. For example, a dumpster with mostly cardboard could be compacted three or four times, while framing and drywall material mash effectively once or twice. Let us show you a demo and we can assess your specific needs.

How long does a mash take?

A mash takes about 2-5 minutes and gives you up to 70% more space in your dumpster.

Do I set a schedule for mashing services?

With Mashed, you have the flexibility to set a schedule or call us for on demand mashing. (We're typically able to mash the same day you call, within 24 hours at the slowest). We tailor our service to your business needs.

Which dumpsters does Mashed service?
